Cathedral Outreach Ministries
Cathedral Outreach Ministries: A rich history of outreach and community service continues to flourish at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral. A ministry of love and service that transforms lives!

Over the years, Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral’s social vision and commitment to serve those in need has been reflected through the ongoing participation of the congregation as well as “Friends of the Cathedral” who have generously given of their time, talent and treasure to help others.
The Cathedral has established an outreach program which partners with social service agencies in the community that provide vital supportive services to vulnerable populations.
Most recently the outreach ministry at the Cathedral has expanded to serve to those who are homeless and hungry in the city of Philadelphia.
The Cathedral has renewed its collaboration with the University Hospitality Coalition and through this partnership will provide lunch in the nave of Cathedral to those in need of a meal on the fourth Thursday of each month beginning at Noon.

“Take Away Bag Ministry” - This ministry provides those who are hungry or homeless with a small bag of snacks which are non-perishable and nutritious.
Cash donations are accepted to purchase the snacks and volunteers are being recruited to fill bags each week to replenish those which have been distributed. Both donations and volunteers are needed to sustain this ministry.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Be dressed for action and have your lamps lit; be like those who are waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet, so that they may open the door for him as soon as he comes and knocks.
