A Reflection on African American Narratives, Spirituals, Poetry and Dance

In honor of African-American History Month, the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral will host a program entitled “They Slice the Air.”

The program will be a reflection on African-American narratives, spirituals, poetry and dance. The evening’s meditation will include spirituals (arranged by Johnson, Burleigh, and Bonds), reflective dance, and the recitation of historic slave narratives and poetry.

Artists include:Lourin Plant, baritone;Paule Turner, dancer; Alexander Timofeev, piano; James Osby & David Bollar, readers. For more information, call 215.386.0234, ext 104. Free will offering.
